The Project
As part of my Communication Design coursework, my team and I were tasked with redesigning the onboarding process at Tapestry, the parent company of Coach, Kate Spade, and Stuart Weitzman.
Our objective was to design a new onboarding activity that better engages new employees around Tapestry’s sustainability goals.
The Approach
To better understand our audience’s needs, we turned to those with lived experience. We conducted a survey with 19 people that had experienced an onboarding process in the last 12 months, which helped us identify the following insights and opportunities:
INSIGHT: Folks are most engaged when
participating in some sort of hands-on activity.
OPPORTUNITY: Design a framework that enables active participation throughout the onboarding process.

Engagement PAthway
Leveraging the power of Mural, an online digital whiteboard collaboration tool, we created an engagement pathway that allowed for active engagement from both in-person and remote participants.

Designing the slides
My team distilled Tapestry's materials around climate change and scope emissions to create an onboarding presentation within the company's brand guidelines.
